Instructions:
- Prepare: Park vehicle on level ground, lower the window, and gather tools. For power windows, consider disconnecting the negative battery terminal as a precaution.
- Remove door panel: Remove screws and fasteners, then pry the door panel away carefully with a trim tool. Disconnect any electrical connectors and set the panel aside.
- Expose interior: Peel back the vapor/water barrier to access the window and channel area. Keep the barrier intact if possible for reinstallation.
- Access the glass: Lower or raise the glass to a position that allows access to the channel mounting area. Use masking tape to secure the glass if needed.
- Remove old channel: Detach any retaining clips or screws and carefully pull the old channel out of the door frame. Cut or trim as needed to free stubborn sections, taking care not to damage the door
- Clean the area: Remove dirt, adhesive residue, and debris from the channel mounting groove. Wipe the area with shop towels and ensure a dry, clean surface.
- Install new channel: Lightly lubricate the inner lip of the new channel with silicone spray. Starting at the top, press the channel into the door frame groove and work it into place, ensuring it seats evenly and fully along its length.
- Reinstall glass: Carefully lower or raise the window into the new channel, ensuring the glass seats properly and moves freely. Adjust alignment if necessary.
- Test operation: Reconnect the battery (if disconnected) and cycle the window several times to confirm smooth travel, proper sealing, and no binding.
- Reassemble: Reattach the vapor barrier, reconnect electrical connectors, and reinstall the door panel and all fasteners. Final-check for leaks and wind noise.
