Restore the clean, factory appearance of your 1987-1996 Dodge Dakota with this outer left and right beltline molding kit. Designed to replace worn, dented, or corroded beltline trim, the pair secures and protects the edge between the door glass and body sheetmetal, helping prevent water intrusion, reduce wind noise, and preserve the vehicle’s finish. Built for long-lasting use, the moldings feature a corrosion-resistant finish and factory-style fit for reliable alignment and easy installation—ideal for restoration projects or routine maintenance.
Features:
- Fitment: 1987-1996 Dodge Dakota — outer left and right beltline molding pair.
- Includes both left-hand and right-hand outer beltline moldings to replace damaged original trim.
- Durable, corrosion-resistant finish for long-term protection and OEM-style appearance.
- Helps reduce wind noise, prevent water intrusion, and protect the door edge and glass seal.
- Designed for straightforward installation using existing retainers or supplied hardware where applicable.
- Ideal for vehicle restoration, cosmetic refreshes, or replacing faded and warped trim pieces.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-45 minutes
Instructions:
- Park on a level surface, lower the window slightly (if applicable), and disconnect the negative battery terminal if working near power components.
- Use masking tape to mark the original molding position and protect paint along the beltline.
- Carefully pry off the old beltline molding using a trim removal tool; remove any retaining clips or adhesive residue with pliers and a cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol.
- Inspect and replace any damaged retainers or clips so the new molding will seat securely.
- If the new molding uses adhesive tape, clean the mounting surface thoroughly, test-fit the molding, then remove backing and press firmly into place. If it uses clips, align the molding with the retainer holes and press until each clip snaps into place.
- Work along the length of the molding, applying even pressure. Use a heat gun on low to increase flexibility in cold conditions if needed.
- Re-check alignment, trim any excess material if necessary, and wipe the area clean. Allow any adhesive to set per manufacturer's recommendations before driving.
