Windshield weatherstrip seal engineered for sedan and wagon body styles that use steel windshield trim. This OEM-style seal features a molded trim groove to accept steel trim and creates a watertight, windproof barrier between the glass and body. It secures the trim, prevents leaks and wind noise, resists weathering, and restores the clean, factory appearance of the windshield opening. Ideal for restoration and routine replacement applications where durability and accurate fitment are required.
Features:
- Fits sedan and wagon models that use steel windshield trim (verify vehicle-specific fitment before purchase).
- Molded trim groove accepts steel trim for a secure, factory-style installation.
- Made from durable, weather-resistant rubber compound to resist UV, ozone, and temperature extremes.
- Seals against water and wind to reduce leaks, drafts, and road noise.
- OEM-style profile restores original appearance and alignment of the windshield and trim.
- Simple snap-in installation for faster replacement during restoration or maintenance.
- Replaces cracked, brittle, or missing seals to protect interior and trim from damage.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and protect painted surfaces with cloths or tape.
- Carefully remove the exterior trim and the old weatherstrip: pry trim away using a plastic trim tool and remove any retaining clips or screws.
- Peel out the old seal and scrape away old adhesive or residue with a razor blade, then clean the channel thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and a degreaser; allow to dry.
- Dry-fit the new weatherstrip into the channel to check orientation and fit; confirm the trim groove aligns with your steel trim.
- Apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel if desired for extra hold (follow adhesive instructions); start installing the new seal at the top center of the windshield.
- Work outward and downward, pressing the seal into the channel and ensuring the trim groove seats correctly; use a rubber mallet or block of wood to tap sections into place if needed.
- Reinstall the steel trim over the groove, securing any clips or screws removed earlier; trim any excess weatherstrip material with scissors for a neat finish.
- Inspect the seal for consistent seating around the entire perimeter, then test for leaks by gently spraying water or using a hose. Re-tighten trim or add adhesive at problem spots if necessary.
