[More Info]
This 40-piece molding clip kit fits 1968–1970 Dodge Charger rear window assemblies and supplies OEM-style fasteners to securely attach the exterior rear window molding. Designed to replace missing, broken, or corroded clips, the set restores proper molding alignment, reduces wind noise, and helps prevent water intrusion around the window. Clips are corrosion-resistant and built for long-term reliability, making this kit ideal for full restorations or routine trim repairs. Easy to use and sufficient for a complete rear window molding replacement.
Features:
  • Fits 1968–1970 Dodge Charger rear window molding (rear window application).
  • Includes 40 replacement molding clips for a complete rear window trim job.
  • Corrosion-resistant construction for durable, long-lasting performance.
  • OEM-style design secures trim, reduces vibration and prevents water leaks.
  • Snap-in installation for quick replacement and alignment of the molding.
  • Ideal for restoration projects and maintenance to return factory fit and finish.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Panel trim removal tool or plastic pry tool
  • Small flat-blade screwdriver
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Rags and rubbing alcohol (cleaning)
  • Soapy water or silicone lubricant (for easier seating)
  • Protective gloves
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on a level surface and work in a well-lit area. Wear gloves to protect hands and finish.
  2. Carefully remove the rear window molding using a trim tool or flat screwdriver, starting at one end and working slowly to avoid bending the molding.
  3. Remove all old clips from the molding and the body. Use pliers or a screwdriver as needed to pry out rusted or broken fasteners.
  4. Clean the clip mounting area and molding channels with rubbing alcohol and a rag to remove old adhesive, dirt, and grease.
  5. Test-fit the new clips along the molding at the factory clip locations to confirm spacing and orientation.
  6. If clips mount to the body, press each new clip into the body holes until fully seated. If clips attach to the molding, press them onto the molding until they lock in place.
  7. Apply a small amount of soapy water or silicone lubricant to the molding edge (optional) to help slide the molding into the clips and prevent damage.
  8. Align the molding with the window edge and press it firmly into the clips along the entire length until each clip snaps and holds the molding securely.
  9. Inspect the fit to ensure consistent engagement and proper alignment. Replace any clips that do not seat properly.
  10. Recheck for gaps, test for wind noise or water intrusion after installation, and make any final adjustments as needed.
