Front lower ball joint (press-in style) for 1967–2000 Chrysler, Dodge, Fargo and Plymouth vehicles — available for either right or left side. This replacement ball joint secures the lower control arm to the steering knuckle, providing precise steering response and stable suspension travel. Engineered from hardened steel with a protective dust boot and durable bearing surfaces, it restores factory suspension geometry and helps prevent premature tire wear. Designed as a direct-replacement (without a threaded housing), it’s ideal for restoration projects and routine maintenance, offering long-lasting reliability and improved handling.
Features:
  • Fitment: Direct fit for 1967–2000 Chrysler / Dodge / Fargo / Plymouth front lower ball joint (right or left side, press-in style, without threaded housing).
  • Material: Hardened steel ball stud and housing with a wear-resistant bearing surface for long service life.
  • Function: Secures the lower control arm to the steering knuckle to maintain alignment and steering stability.
  • Design: Press-in (non-threaded) replacement — restores factory suspension geometry for older vehicles and restoration builds.
  • Protection: Integrated dust boot helps keep contaminants out and extend joint life.
  • Ease of use: Direct-replacement unit that can be pressed into the control arm with standard ball-joint tools.
  • Application: Ideal for suspension rebuilds, restorations, and routine maintenance on classic Mopar and Fargo trucks.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Estimated time: 1–2 hours per side (depending on experience and tools)
Suggested Tools:
  • Floor jack and jack stands
  • Socket and wrench set
  • Ball joint press or hydraulic press (C-frame press kit)
  • Punch or drift and hammer
  • Pliers (for cotter pin removal)
  • Torque wrench
  • Grease gun (if fitting has a zerk)
  • Penetrating oil and safety glasses
Instructions:
  1. Park on level ground, engage parking brake and loosen lug nuts slightly. Raise the vehicle and support securely on jack stands; remove the wheel.
  2. Apply penetrating oil to fasteners and remove any cotter pins or retaining clips from the ball joint castle nut.
  3. Loosen and remove the castellated nut holding the ball joint to the steering knuckle, then separate the joint from the knuckle using a ball joint separator or appropriate tool.
  4. Support the lower control arm and remove any bolts or rivets holding the old ball joint housing (if applicable).
  5. Use a ball joint press or hydraulic press to press the old ball joint out of the control arm. Clean the control arm bore and inspect for damage or excessive wear.
  6. Position the new press-in ball joint into the control arm bore and use the press to install the unit squarely until fully seated. Do not hammer the stud directly.
  7. Reattach the steering knuckle to the ball joint, install and torque the castle nut to factory specification, and fit a new cotter pin or retaining clip.
  8. Reinstall any removed fasteners, lower the vehicle, torque the wheel lug nuts to spec, and perform a basic steering and suspension check.
  9. Grease the new ball joint if equipped with a zerk fitting, and have a professional alignment performed after replacement to restore proper toe/camber settings.
